| - Garian and Kentaro sat in their usual places near the fire, Kentaro seated on a cushion while Garian looked down on his audience from one of his large chairs which the giant of a Shinigami filled quite easily. He even made the chair appear small. The fireplace, logs and coals burning in the hearth cast the room in a dim light, while extending the shadows of the two men within onto the far wall. Garian’s shadow was as long and large as he and gave the impression of a large lion seated behind him due to the lion-like set of his face and hair. Their training hadn’t picked up yet this morning, but it soon would. But before that was the continuation of Garian’s story, which he took up were he left off. “The art I used to help Shintai-” He began explaining “- is called Shinsei. It involves merging ones physical power with their spiritual into a single unified force for brief periods.” “This sounds awfully familiar…” Kentaro cut in, connecting the dots. Fullbring was an act of physical power after all. It required stamina, not spiritual power, to operate and could only be done in the human body as far as he was aware. Was Garian trying to fuse his physical and spiritual power, using this Shinsei as the base, or was it merely a coincidence? Kentaro leaned forward for his curiosity was caught like a fish by a fisherman. “So you did notice?” Garian replied, genuinely surprised… but pleasantly so regardless. He preferred his students arriving at a conclusion themselves, rather than explaining it to them without them first being ready. “I was beginning to doubt whether or not you had graduated the Academy like you said… and here I was thinking you’d show them how much of an overhaul their education system needs.” There it was! There was always a smart remark with him regardless of the situation! Yet Kentaro was coming to enjoy the old mans taste in humour. Saying he was picking some of it up for himself would be an understatement. “But I’ve wandered… Oh yes, Shinsei. As I said, it unifies two worlds: the physical and spiritual, though an act like that when not used to it - as I was back then is tremendously draining, if only for a short time. I was unconscious, so I did not know what happened afterwards… but when I awoke, feeling refreshed and chipper, my eyes fell upon Nasu lying nearby, unconscious and bleeding heavily…”
