When Riley didn't respond the requests to come out conveyed by loudhailer, Sharp got Conway and Stevens to cut the glass of the kitchen window, ringing the flat to cover the noise of the attempt. They were then able to rush in and overpower Riley just as he attempted to leave using Val as a cover. Credited as "Policeman", the character's name was given in dialogue.
