The next day, they have trouble sticking to their promises for Lent but they arrive home to find out that Bullock has been contracted to keep their promises as part of his own promise for Lent and threatens to cut off the finger of the first person to fail keeping their word. Bullock reveals that the deal ends when he gets a finger and the family tries to set up each other to fail. Francine tries to keep everyone together but arrives home to find the family butchered each other. Under stress, Francine lights a cigarette and breaks her vow as the family reveals they were faking to set her up since it was her idea. Bullock arrives to take Francine's finger as she gives the family the bird.
As Bullock prepares, Francine gets the shakes but intends to go through with her promise. As Bullock starts to take Francine's finger, the family all steps up to save Francine's finger and Bullock spares Francine. As they celebrate, Stan cuts off his finger to show that he could still go through with a promise as Bullock hides in a cubbyhole in the house.
