In tropical climates these are little worms of sizes that vary, the babies usually go through books eating through the pages. You can tell because when you open the book you can find a tiny hole that goes from one side of the book to the next. When you see that, it means that you have a woodworm infestation. Woodworms are not hazardous to humans, but they are to wood, paper and such that come from trees. They will continue to eat as long as the area is not supervised.
