  • In late 1970, Victor and his wife, Jeanne, visited the ruins of Collinwood on a dare after hearing many stories throughout town about how there ghosts inhabiting the mansion, as well as reports of strange lights and music. Victor and Jeanne did not believe the stories they heard, and decided to investigate for themselves. Once inside Collinwood, the two became overwhelmed by a powerful sense of evil, and tried to run from the house in fear. While making their way towards the front door, Jeanne was killed by a falling statue that fell from the railing on the staircase landing in the foyer. Victor claims he heard a man's laughter while he examined Jeanne's dead body, and ran from the house without ever seeing her again. Victor had thought about that night constantly since it occurred. Other than this story, Victor was unable to offer Barnabas Collins and Julia Hoffman any other clues on what happened in 1970. (1062) Since Barnabas, Julia, and Professor T. Eliot Stokes prevented the Destruction of Collinwood (1198), it can be assumed that Jeanne was not killed in Collinwood, and Victor's life turned out much differently than how it was portrayed on-screen. In Big Finish's Tainted Love, fans hear of a different fate for Jeanne and Victor.
