The Egg Dragoon is the seventh main boss of Sonic Unleashed and is fought with Sonic the Werehog directly after completing Eggmanland. The boss battle takes place across three platforms which Sonic cannot fall off of. When the Egg Dragoon's health has been depleted by a third, the player automatically moves onto the next platform. On the mobile version of Sonic Unleashed, the Egg Dragoon is the game's final boss and is fought after completing Mazuri.

- During the Shattered World Crisis, as Sonic the Hedgehog was searching the massive body of the Gaia Colossus for Chip and the stolen Chaos Emeralds, he is confronted by Dr. Eggman in his Egg Dragoon. The two arch-enemies engaged in battle with the Egg Dragoon firing a barrage of projectiles at the hedgehog, though Sonic easily avoids them and jumps on top of the mecha to taunt the doctor. Eggman responded to these taunts by driving the Egg Dragoon into the Gaia Colossus hoping to crush and kill Sonic, but it fails. Sonic then tries to think of a way to damage the Egg Dragoon's armor, but Eggman managed to hit him with an ice blast that freezes him solid.
