The two fought in the Battle of Corrin for Sheuset Ecevit during which he demonstrated a selfless act of courage in giving his life to save his subordinates. After Abulurd disgraced his family by fleeing the battle, House Harkonnen was disgraced but Ivan was spared because of his heroism. His son, Nikolai Harkonnen, was created Duke of Eluzai.
