  • Sozokunin, or 'heir to the throne', was the title of a new Clan Champion of a Great Clan who still had not been recognized by the Emperor. After a Sozokunin was blessed by the Divine one, his station was official. In one unique case, the Crab and Scorpion Clan Champion both died in a massive battle over disputed territories. The Emperor, furious at the war, immediately sent his own sozokunin Champions, members of the Seppun house, to rule both clans until the next Winter Court. Both clans could not shed each other's blood with these temporary daimyos and were forced to resolve their differences.
