In the playoffs he scored 2 goals and 3 assists in 17 games. He played for the Ottawa Commandos as they won the Allan Cup in 1943. After playing for other military teams during World War II, Giesebrecht returned to his hometown to play for the Pembroke Lumber Kings. Aside from a short spell with the Ottawa Senators in the 1946-47 playoffs, he played for the Lumber Kings from 1945 until his retirement in 1952.
