Marcos XII (or Marcus XII) is a planet located in or near Federation space. It was the first planet the angel-like being Gorgan decided to conquer after his release. Gorgan used the children of the Starnes Exploration Party to capture the USS Enterprise and then had them set the ship’s course for Marcos XII. Tommy Starnes had relatives on this planet. This planet was shown on the star chart behind Dexter Remmick in the episode TNG “Conspiracy”.

(TOS: "And the Children Shall Lead" ) In 2293, the location of Marcos XII in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in a star chart in Captain James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, okudagram) In 2328, this was the destination for passengers traveling from Manark IV City via commercial transport. Christopher Tezber and Duke Willer traveled on the SS Kogin. (TNG-R: "Inheritance" , okudagram) According to Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I"), in 2378, this planet was listed as a Federation member. Star Trek: Federation - The First 150 Years uses the spelling "Marcus XII".
