The Tacoma SuperSonics (also commonly called the Sonics) are an American professional basketball franchise in the NBA, based out of Tacoma, Washington. Founded in 1967, the Sonics play in the Northwest Division of the NBA's Western Conference. The Sonics have won four NBA championships, all consecutively, from 1989-1992, and in the 1991-92 season achieved a then-NBA all-time best 71-11 regular season record (bested in 2003-04 by the New Orleans Jazz, who went 72-10) and a 15-1 postseason record, which still stands today as the best postseason record in NBA history.
