Kameyama Jima was a small and distant island sometimes used by gaijin ships to resupply their stores. The Hantei granted it to the fledging Tortoise Clan to serve as their home away from home. It served as a sort of juncture point between Rokugan and the gaijin. There were an eastern and a western ports, each large enough to accommodate three or four ships. Trade with the gaijin lands was launched from the eastern port, the goods moved to a village at the center of the island, and a small fraction were allowed through to the western port, where they were shipped back to Slow Tide Harbor. Two ships, named the Red Ships, we re authorized to visit gaijin lands each year, one in the spring, one in the fall.
