Between the end of The Power That Preserves and the start of the Sunbane, a Raver possessed the High Lord through which Lord Foul corrupted the Council of Lords into the Clave, twisting their love of the land into Despite. The Clave sacrificed blood to the Banefire in Revelstone, believing that the sacrifices weakened the Sunbane, although in fact it did the opposite.
