An injury-ravaged Bristol Rovers side pulled off an against-the-odds victory over Fleetwood Town in this League Two fixture, winning the League Managers' Association Performance of the Week award in the process. Bottom-of-the-table Rovers, were so lacking in fit players that they were unable to fill the bench, naming just five substitutes instead of the usual seven. Manager John Ward also handed a first start to first-year professional Ellis Harrison, and gave a first team debut to second year scholar Tom Lockyer, who replaced Harrison five minutes from full time.

abstract
| - An injury-ravaged Bristol Rovers side pulled off an against-the-odds victory over Fleetwood Town in this League Two fixture, winning the League Managers' Association Performance of the Week award in the process. The Pirates took the lead early on, with Danny Woodards scoring inside five minutes. Eliot Richards doubled the advantage 22 minutes later to give them a 2–0 advantage at the break. The scoring was rounded off by on-loan midfielder John-Joe O'Toole just four minutes into the second half, making the final score 3–0.
