Kohagi-ya was an inn in Kyoto where several of the Chōshū Ishin-Shishi took up temporary residence in the early days of the bakumatsu. It is here that the young Himura Kenshin had his lodgings while acting as the Hitokiri Battōsai and the place he and Yukishiro Tomoe stayed together after they first met. Unfortunately, during the Kinmon Incident in the first year of Genji, the Kohagi-ya was burnt to the ground.
