| - Jungia (Romaji: Yungia; Kana: ユンギア) is a region of the world of Pokémon. It is the setting of Pokémon Anima and Animus, and it is the native habitat of the Carolean Generation of pokémon. Its Pokémon Professor is Professor Quinton Quercus. Jungia is a floating continent which is levitating above the North Pole of the Pokémon world. As a result of its extreme latitude and its extreme height, it's one of the coldest regions — if not the coldest region — of the Pokémon world. Notably, because of how northward it is and how high it is, it is rare — but not unheard of — for Jungia to receive visitors of any sort. Consequently, the Jungians are somewhat behind in the times. Jungia does not have a Pokémon League, because it is devoid of a central government with the influence and resources that are necessary for financing and operating such an organization. For Jungia is not a unified nation. But rather, it's a coalition of sovereign city-states which are fiercely independent from one another. Notably, among the many and varied city-states of Jungia, there are naught but 8 which exhibit a pokémon Gym. In addition, because the pokémon Gyms are both independent from one another and rivals with one another, all of their Gym Leaders exhibit a degree of strength that is more like that of a member of the Elite Four than a Gym Leader. Much to the dismay of its various authorities, Jungia is not home to a single villainous team. Instead, Jungia is home to a variety of villainous teams. Notably, the worst of the villainous teams is the dreaded Team Apollo. Which is obsessed with unearthing the ruins of ancient Jungia and scouring them for clues about the legendary pokémon which is said to be responsible for Jungia's levitation. What Team Apollo plans to do with the legendary pokémon is unknown to all but its admins, the Four Gods of Enlightenment.
