Kafir, meaning "infidel" in Arabic, is a term used by the Assamites to describe kindred from other clans, both a hint at the other clans' treacherous natures and a signal for those clans' apparent indulgence in the moods of their Beast without adherence to the strict doctrine of the Path of Blood.
