  • Absolute Monarchy, as a system, involves a monarch with absolute powers who rules paramount and foremost before even parliamentary or congressional figures, whom are elected or otherwise representative. Most absolute monarchies over time became constitutional monarchies and/or elective monarchies. These are similar but more open systems seen today, some powerfully centralized and others without real order.
  • An Absoulute Monarchy ("mon" meaning one and "archy" meaning rule) is a government commanded by one with absolute power. A monarch (the leader of a monarchy) generally appoints an heir to take up the power when the monarch is gone.
  • Absolute monarchy is a monarchial form of government where the ruler has the power to rule his or her land or country and its citizens freely, with no laws or legally-organized direct opposition in force. Although some religious authority may be able to discourage the monarch from some acts and the sovereign is expected to act according to custom, in an absolute monarchy there is no constitution or body of law above what is decreed by the sovereign (king or queen). As a theory of government, absolute monarchy puts total trust in breeding, education and judgement of a well-trained monarch raised for the role from birth.
  • Absolute monarchy or absolutism is a monarchical form of government in which the monarch has absolute power among his or her people. An absolute monarch wields unrestricted political power over the sovereign state and its people. Absolute monarchies are often hereditary but other means of transmission of power are attested. Absolute monarchy differs from constitutional monarchy, in which the monarch's authority is legally bound or restricted by a constitution. In theory, the absolute monarch exercises total power over the land, yet in practice the monarchy is counterbalanced by political groups from among the social classes and castes of the realm, such as the aristocracy, clergy, and middle and lower classes.
  • Absolute Monarchy is a form of government where most - if not all - legislative, executive and often judicial powers are vested in the reigning Monarch. Typically, the ruler of an Absolute Monarchy has all the power of the State and the courts, all though some Absolute Monarchies may have some degree of devolution (Feudalism). Despite a Monarch holding absolute de jure power, most Monarchs have only limited power over their nations due to aristocratic influences. Most modern Asbolute Monarchies are infact Constitutional Monarchies, with the Monarch holding little or no de facto power.

  • Absolute Monarchy is a Government type in Empire: Total War.
  • An Absoulute Monarchy ("mon" meaning one and "archy" meaning rule) is a government commanded by one with absolute power. A monarch (the leader of a monarchy) generally appoints an heir to take up the power when the monarch is gone. Monarchist governments are extremely prone to corruption as the monarch having so much power is extraordinarily dangerous and self serving to the monarch. Many clans will see that a system such as this is detrimental to large clans or unions. One man with complete power, such as a monarchy, rarely works as corruption, management, and economic issues arise. It is, regardless, beneficial for some smaller clans as the populace requires a complete leader to organize and inspire them.

Despite a Monarch holding absolute de jure power, most Monarchs have only limited power over their nations due to aristocratic influences. Most modern Asbolute Monarchies are infact Constitutional Monarchies, with the Monarch holding little or no de facto power. Micronationally, true Absolute Monarchies are more common. With many micronations creating a nostalgic representation of medieval European and/or British politics, Absolute Monarchy is a popular form of government for both leaders and citizens. Most Monarchs can fesiably hold absolute power due to a much lower citizenship count and, in many cases, due to the bonus of being the Father of the Nation.

In theory, an absolute monarch has total power over his or her people and land, including the aristocracy, bourgeoisie and at times the clergy, but in practice, absolute monarchs have often found their power limited. One current example is the Emprie of Lysonia, which is technically an absolute monarchy, but which has, until recently, faced stiff opposition from the Golton Liberation Army and has recently established an Assembly to advise the Empress Vesha Nek on political matters. Some monarchies have powerless or symbolic parliaments and other governmental bodies that the monarch can alter or dissolve at will. Despite effectively being absolute monarchies, they are technically constitutional monarchies due to the existence of a constitution and national canon of law.
