abstract	The K'mirra-class (translated as Alliance-class) was a type of Klingon starship, classified as a battle cruiser, in Imperial Klingon Defense Force service in the 24th century. The K'mirra-class was based on the hull design of the 23rd century Komo Val-class, fitted with warp engines that were based on those of the Federation Excelsior-class. It was described as a Transwarp drive capable firing platform with a great deal of firepower as well as durability. Some elements of Federation technology was imported into the design but the firepower came at the expense of individual crew comforts. This reflected the willingness of KDF naval designers in adapting as well as improving the Starfleet approach to naval architecture. The Alliance class was the largest and most formidable of vessels within the Klingon Defense Force and served as proof of the mutual cooperation between the Free Worlds of Klinzai and the United Federation of Planets.
