The RG425 is one of only a few RG models produced with a 22-fret neck. It is also remarkable for the placement of its two humbucking pickups adjacent to one another. It has the sharp-edged body style which distinguishes it from the older Roadstar body. The RG425 features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret fingerboard with dot inlays. Components include dual Ibanez humbucking pickups mounted side-by-side at the bridge with coil-tap Duo Sound functionality and an Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut. The RG425 was discontinued after just one year of production.
