| - That's hard to say. Tosen was Komamura's good friend to he might have held back without realising. I mean, it is hard to fight a friend to death. In addition, according to Tosen himself, Komamura is not used to counters. I.e. Komamura is so strong, that he usually defeats his opponent in one blow, specially in bankai. As a result, he is vulnerable if his opponent survives the first blow and counters.

In the Battle of Hasting, the Saxon army used great axes. The great axe wielding troops were very powerful and usually killed their opponents with one swing. However, great axes were also slow and the time between blows was long. William the conqueror took advantage of this and employed a strategy that would involved his troops dodging the first blow and killing the saxon warrior before he had had a chance to swing this great axe again. That's pretty much Komamura in a nutshell. Most people with speed enough to dodge him once, stand a good chance of defeating him. However, most people who are not Aizen or Tosen in Resurrection, wouldn't survive the first blow.
