- A particular event takes place on the day after Thanksgiving; they call it "Black Friday," a practice long held among the American people. A day to give into all of your worldly desires and purge yourself upon countless discounted goods and outrageously cheap deals provided by the unseen hands of the market. My family rejoiced upon the arrival of this long awaited day. "You will learn this precious trade, and soon be as great as your very own mother!" She took great pride in what she did. I'm not sure how long it was until people started panicking.
- The day after Thanksgiving is traditionally referred to as Black Friday among the retail community. While store clerks and shoppers may associate the term with the crowds and the rushing around from rack-to-rack and store-to-store to find just the right holiday gift, for the retail industry black refers to the accounting term to denote profits. It is typically the day when retailers traditionally get back "in the black" after operating "in the red" for the previous months.
- Black Friday is a colloquial term for the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, which is one of the largest sales days of the year. Often, stores open very early (6am is common), slash prices and offer special time-sensitive sales (such as ending pricing at noon). Black Friday gets its name for being the day most retailers hope to "be in the black" — make a profit — financially. Originally, it was a term used for the day of the stock market crash (Black Tuesday, in this case) that started the Great Depression in October, 1929.
- Black Friday is the eleventh episode of the first season of Scream Queens, and the eleventh episode overall. Ian Brennan served as writer and Barbara Brown served as director. It had its official release on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 on Fox.
