- Sanford is a supporting character who appeared in the 2nd episode of DiC's Care Bears TV series, "Camp". He is a quiet, bookish boy who gets bunked with an outgoing, talkative boy named Murphy at summer camp. The Care Bears join them on their trip to make sure they get along despite their differences.
- Sanford's favorite weapon is a hook on a line, which he obtains sometime between Madness 5.5 and 9. His fighting skills are almost on par with Hank's, and he is so far the only person to fight the Auditor and survive. His large lips make him one of the few characters in the series to have any prominent facial features. Sanford is also the only major character who has not yet died at least once. At least, not canonically.
- Sanford is an Pixie NPC located in Seaside.

- Sanford serves to be one of the secondary protagonists of the Madness Combat series, mainly fighting alongside Deimos. He wears a bandana, black teashades, army-camo pants and has what appears to be a DNA-pattern tattoo on his back. He debuts with Deimos in Madness Combat 5 when they deliver a dragon sword to Hank. He later appears in Madness Combat 5.5 as one of the protagonists, and again in Madness Combat 6.5, Madness Combat 7.5, Madness Combat 9: Aggregation and Madness Combat 10: Abrogation. Overall, Sanford has killed 199 people in the series, which amounts to around 16% of the series' total kills, and has not died in the canon series so far.
- A revival of Sanford and Son starring Redd Foxx as junk dealer Fred G. Sanford. The series attempted to recapture the magic (and the Ratings) from his previous hit. However, Demond Wilson (Lamont) didn't return, so the producers dispatched his character to the Alaskan pipeline and cast perennial character actor Dennis Burkley as Fred's new partner and housemate, hefty Southerner Cal Pettie. In addition, Fred found love with a new girlfriend: wealthy socialite Evelyn Lewis (played by Marguerite Ray).
- Sanford has above average height and fairly average weight. He has spikey, somewhat messy and somewhat long black hair. Within the series, his skin tone is shown to be either fair or pale. He is fairly physically strong, though he is not burly. He has green coloured eyes, though, due to what is said to be an issue with his sight, he regularly wears goggles that are the same colour as his eyes. He has a notable X-shaped scar on his face, reaching from parts of his hair along to parts of his cheekbones, with the center being in between his eyes. He almost always has his signature weapon, a non-magical hook stained with blood, with him, and it is connected to a chain system that goes over his waist, which is meant for him to be able to get the hook back after throwing it.
