William Henry Matthews (25 October 1866-7 August 1949) was a politician from St Pancras. Born in St Pancras Workhouse, he became a vestryman and was chairman of the St Pancras Vestry in 1897. In 1900 the vestry was replaced by the Metropolitan Borough of St Pancras, and he served as the second Mayor of St Pancras in 1902-03. A plaque on St Pancras Way bridge [1] refers.
