  • Famous for being where "The Office" is based.
  • Swindon is a town of about 155,000 people in southwest England.
  • Swindon, is a large roundabout in the British county of Wiltshire (or Wiltshite) in South-West England. It lies close to the busy M4 motorway, one of the most unpleasantly busy roads in the area. This proximity continues Swindon's historical association with rapid transport links, an association which is widely regarded as one of its prime advantages, allowing, as it does, rapid egress from the place in a wide array of directions. The town was populated in the late 1960s by roundabout enthusiasts from around the world (mostly the UK and Poland) who made a pilgrimage to the town and found it to be such a lovely place that they made permanent residence. Their retarded ancestors still roam the area today, building more and more junctions in honor of their predecessors.
  • Swindon – miasto w południowo-zachodniej Anglii, w hrabstwie Wiltshire.
  • Swindon is the biggest town in Wiltshire, England. It gained fame as the centre of the Great Western Railway at the end of the 1800s, however, following the closure of the rail yards, it has become notorious as a bland town with a number of concrete office buildings. There are 12 residential tower blocks in Swindon. The most were built in the Parks, with 7 tower blocks constructed there, however two 12-storey blocks in the Ward were demolished as part of early regeneration schemes for Cavendish Square. One 6-storey block remains at the site following a re-cladding.

  • Swindon is the biggest town in Wiltshire, England. It gained fame as the centre of the Great Western Railway at the end of the 1800s, however, following the closure of the rail yards, it has become notorious as a bland town with a number of concrete office buildings. After World War II, a number of people from parts of London bombed by the Luftwaffe were moved to Swindon, and this, combined with people living in deprived terraced housing in the town resulted in the creation of several council estates in the 1950s. Swindon has largely escaped the high-rise estates of the 1960s due to most of the housing stock dating from this decade. Other tower blocks can be found at Penhill and Liden. The estate at Eldene used to have several tower blocks however they were demolished, with a number of smaller blocks still remaining. Other estates include Pinehurst, which is comprised almost entirely of council housing. Mostly built in the 1920s, one section of the estate is referred to as 'Tinland' or 'Tintown' by locals because of the tin housing there erected post-war which remains to this day. The Toothill Estate has swathes of low-rise flats and a severe drug problem. Walcot, bordering with the Parks, also has many blocks of maisonette flats and other council housing. Gorse Hill and parts of Wootton Bassett are similar.
