On February 1, 2679, Kristian Tanner was elected Praetor. He claimed nearly 80 million votes and won 72.29% of the vote. He also helped the Labour Party gain twenty seats in the Senate. The 2679 elections were the most successful since the December 2640 elections. The party also won the Lindar Valley and Athosia governorships.

The party retained the Athosia and Lindar Valley governorships and gained the Albiland governorship. On September 9, 2683, Tanner resigned as leader of the Baltusian Labour Party. He opted not to seek a third term just months before. His daughter, Hazel, won his seat in the Senate.
