  • The Samothrace class was a class of superdreadnoughts built and operated by the Royal Manticoran Navy. It was the second class of Manticoran superdreadnought, under construction in 1844 PD and first put into service four T-years later. It was preceeded by the Manticore class by almost a century. By 1920 PD, and as they belonged to an early pre-pod design, the Samothraces were regarded as obsolete vessels unsuitable for modern naval warfare, and most ships of the class had already been retired by the outbreak of the Second Haven-Manticore War, save for a few vessels which remained in service, usually assigned as flagships for the Star Kingdom's most remote naval stations, such as the one established at the newly created Talbott Station.
