| - archaic couture. (also known by fans as ac*) is an American experimental rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2007 by former schoolmates Mara Ahtisaari and Kristina Reljić. Ahtisaari and Reljić were both immigrants to the country, from Finland and Serbia respectively. Through high school, the two became good friends, and attended all sorts of concerts, developing quite a taste for music. Ahtisaari eventually would begin singing, and Reljić picked up her first guitar. In 2004, as grade 11 students, the girls linked up with classmates Benjamin Morris and Chris Sekine, the two young men who would eventually become the drummer and the bassist for their new band.

In 2005, when the quartet graduated from school, more attention turned to the band, and they would eventually decide on the name archaic couture. archaic couture. eventually became recognized in the local underground scene, and came up through the ranks with original music, with all lyrics written by Ahtisaari and Sekine. In February of 2008, AC*'s first full-length major debut album "goodnowgo." was released, following the conclusion of My Freaky Valentine's Love Is Not An Option Tour. On March 4th, 2008, archaic couture. hit the road again with acts such as Lost Nights Alone, Asunder, and The Midnight Scene. The tour featured dates in the United States and England respectively.
