| - It was the last bought to be had, and there was a feeling of tension in the air. It was Krieg's final match against the Black Butterfly, and it was also a match where Banger could possibly sweep the series. There had been lots of banter and talk about the match, and a lot of trash talking. Much unlike what Krieg normally did around the crew he decided this time to get in on the war of words with a few of his own. No matter what was said, it all came down to the combat in space. This time Krieg doesn't wait as he exits the ship in his simulator, taking the first jump on the younger pilot. Perhaps he was out for blood this match, as he gets the jump on the rear of her fighter opening up with the first volley of the match. The Butterfly is just sweating slightly in her virtual fighter on deck. Ignoring the alarms emitting from the console, she weaves her way around the 'space', Sarai's lips clenched tightly even as she shots at Kr- er, Banger, and swoops well away. Lighting up her shields in the first hit of the match Krieg kicks the power in and moves deftly away from the Butterfly's return fire. Knowing that she still had a lot of sting much like Chance and Slush, he wasn't going to take any chances. In some regards the Admiral may have been going easy on him, and this was not a time to let his guard down. Bringing the fighter back around to answer the insults that were directed at his flying ability earlier he opens up again on her craft, this time an attack from above. Butterfly's are supposed to be light, and graceful, correct? Well, Sarai isn't, not today at least, even as she barrel rolls and still gets hid. The alarms are blaring that the shields are down, all the way down, and she's trying not to yell at them that yes, she knows. Instead, she re-aligns herself closely with Banger and then fires. Dropping her nose down in a screeching halt, she does about a 90-degree twist to dive out of the way from any return fire. Not sure what to make of her moves, Krieg can see that she is trying to pull some sort of maneuver. Perhaps it was a setup for him to be lured in to a stop, or just maybe it was something she was trying to do to get him to keep his speed up. As he takes his run and lights up her shields he passes overhead, not sure what to make of her defense. However, as he flies out of her return fire easily he can see that she is sighting him in by keeping his speed and the aggressive maneuvers. Diving in on his next attack run he takes her craft on from the side, opening up with fire once more. However, in defense this time he comes to a complete and total stop. It was time to stop letting her predict her moves - with no movement at all. Aha! Sarai's plan to dive puts him somewhat off guard, and she is able too swoop back up and set her sights on Kreig in his fighter. She aims, fires, and dives down again, but not at such a steep angle. An interesting strategy she was employing now, and to which Krieg kicks the power back in. He was playing an unpredictable game he knew and this was as deadly as it gets. Answering her laser fire again with shots of his own he snap rolls onto her craft, engaging at point blank to pull out hard after his attack run to avoid her retaliatory fire. Sithspit! Sarai curses silently to herself as her hull balance lowers. The sirens are wailing, and she's definitely in some trouble, even as she whips around after the jarring hit, and lets off hits at Krieg, before making herself a little bit dizzy with a fast barrel roll. The last round provided to be an interesting one, with the Butterfly ducking away at the last possible moment. Knowing that she was about to bring the heat back upon him he deftly moves out of the way to circle back and attack her craft once more, taking a few moments to fire each laser in succession upon her craft. Moments after he has fired he pulls hard away once more to escape her fire. Well, the butterfly clan is having no luck today, but still, luckily enough, they get through another attack, but still with no hits. Again it seemed that he couldn't get the right angle on her craft of that she was starting to mess with him when it came to his attack. Her movements on the offense were rather predictable so far and that wasn't very difficult to avoid, but her title of black butterfly was becoming the truth every moment he continued to fight her. Somehow she could flirt right out of his fire with ease, and it was a bit frustrating to engage her on. No matter the reason, Krieg moves in with a few snap turns and engages again, bringing his guns to point blank to make sure he does hit. Two more rounds over, and Sarai is still cursing at her alarms, but is not so much panicking now even as she manages to smoothly dive away from his attack, and then hopefully hit the big boss with one of the two quick shots. There were elements of this fight that reminded Krieg of his battle with the Admiral and the black butterfly was starting to live up to what Vapor had taught all of her pilots. Knowing that it was a matter of time before the two would break into hits once more, Krieg takes his craft again and brings on a new maneuver for Sarai to dodge, bringing in his fire in a tighter arc as he easily moves around her blasts. Now it's just a simple game of cat and mouse, as the fighting pair seems to dance on their fighter's tails to evade shots and then return them with vicious intensity. Sarai finally hits a button and the wail dies down to a small mutter, making that half suddenly much quieter. Dangerous. That was the only thing Krieg could say about her in this fight. Yes, she hadn't managed to score a hit but it seemed as if there was a secondary field around her craft that prevented him from hitting her. Maybe it was the simulator, or maybe she was better than anyone had hoped. Whatever the reason it had Krieg thinking twice now in his moves, making sure that he was clear before starting another attack run to hail fire upon her craft once again. Sweet Liza, Sarai /knows/ she could hit him, and she /knows/ she's getting her rear kicked- but what is happening her? The butterfly is diving for her life at a frantic pace, letting shots off go randomly, yet they manage to go straight for the Banger. This was almost getting to the point it was embarrassing. He could hit Vapor, Dante, and Slush brining them all down but the black butterfly was as elusive at hitting as the actual creature was. Deciding now to do something new he sends his craft in a spiral dive to clear away from her fire, then to snap turn at the last second right back at her on a collision course spraying green fire all over and around her craft, anticipating where she might try to jump away this next time. Sarai is praying to something. Maybe the ceiling, even as she pulls a barrel-dive on a wingtip, diving adroitly under Krieg to come up firing at his tail end. The exchange fire from this run on left Krieg at a disadvantage, but his hits came in true and sound on her hull as he uses his shields to deflect the blaster fire that comes his way, skirting on the edge of her blaster arc. Wasting no time coming off the run he swoops out and back in for another salvo into her hull, looking to end this quick now that the stalemate had been broken. Sithspit! The sirens went up, but Sarai is too busy doing a miniature happy dance to really pay attention. She hit Krieg, she hit Krieg, she hit Krieg, haha! His attack and sudden aggression once again seems to have taken the other pilot by surprise as Krieg takes his fighter in some stunning moves to engage her fighter. This was going to be the end of their fight soon, he did not want to prolong this. Darting around her return fire he engages again, looking to end this with a critical hit. He knows that she must be feeling the strain at this point, but that was no fault of her own. She still had sting left and he knew it. It turns once more into a cat and mouse game, Sarai hunched over controls; even as she does all that she's learned to go for it and kick Krieg's rear- or is it the opposite? Indeed, she fires off some shots and dives for cover. True to his thoughts about her sting she dives away from his fire, and it is with that move that he breaks the other direction to evade her next move. It was an easy dodge again, which still surprises him that she can actually evade all his fire but not really get close to bringing the heat back upon him. Whatever the case may be he moves in, knowing that he may have to sacrifice the ability to dodge some of her fire as he runs in as close as he can get to bring his lasers upon her craft once more. Sarai knows she is too close for her craft's position- but that doesn't stop her from diving close to see if she can evade. She cannot, however, for the instant she gets hit a second time the warning lights fail and the consoles lock down. She's lost- but hey, it was experience. It was a good fight to the very last shot, and Krieg was impressed at how well she could evade fire. Perhaps it was a product of her bomber training, or perhaps she was just that good all the time. Whatever the case he pulls one last move for the spectators to see. The fight was over, and thus ended his time in the championship regular matches.
