__NOEDITSECTION__ __TOC__ Formations are positions familiars take in battle. Three to five familiars can enter the battle. The player begins with only one formation, but obtains new ones as the Adventure mode is played and zones are cleared. NOTE: Upon receiving your first 4-familiar formation, all previous formations (the 3-familiar ones) are lost and cannot be chosen from that point on. The same happens when you get your first 5-familiar formation (losing all 4-familiar formations).

Note that the article has been 'translated' from F-16 formations and tactics to Star Wars starfighter formations and tactics. It's possible that a formation that works well in atmosphere with a Viper might not work as well in space with a flight of TIE Interceptors. The only way to find out is to experiment, so get on that server with your buddies and form some formations!

(e.g. [Explosives] -3 indicates protection from enemy explosives rather than a penalty to your explosives) * The listed Effect, +%, and -% modifiers are for the most advanced variant of each formation. Using a more primitive variant will result in smaller bonuses and larger penalties. * The numbers listed under each attribute indicate which positions in a formation will receive the respective bonuses (blue) or penalties (red). (e.g. 123 listed under Spd in blue indicates positions 1, 2, and 3, will receive a speed bonus) * For a quick overview of what is required to perform a formation upgrade, see Formation Upgrade Tables (X360) or Formation Upgrade Tables (PC).
