- Peregrin Took, more commonly known as Pippin, was a Hobbit of the Shire, and one of Frodo Baggins's youngest, but closest friends. He was a member of the Fellowship of the Ring.
- Peregrin Took, more frequently known as Pippin, less frequently by his untranslated Westron name, Razanur Tûk, is a Hobbit and a member of the Fellowship of the Ring from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. As well as being instrumental in inciting the Ents to battle Saruman at Isengard and in the Scouring of the Shire, Pippin fights with the Gondorians at the Battle of Pelennor Fields. Pippin is the youngest of the Hobbits in the Fellowship, and while at the start he treats the whole quest as a silly game, he soon learns and becomes capable and determined.
- Peregrin Took, universally known as Pippin, was an innocent and childlike companion in the Ring Company. He was the youngest and least mature member of the Company; naive and curious. Pippin had a terrible penchant for falling into trouble. However, Pippin later demonstrated his heroic nature. Pippin was born in Tuckborough in T.A. 2990, and was therefore under age (i.e., only in his twenties) when he was involved in the terrible events of the War of the Ring. He succeeded, with his cousin Merry, in pressuring Frodo (his second cousin once removed) to accept them as company on the Ring-quest. Merry and Pippin did not distinguish themselves on the trip to Rivendell, and only credited their involvement much later on.
