In Crisis Core the researcher was Shinra's main biotech scientist next to Hojo. But when he found out that Ifalna (who he thought to be the last remaining ancient) died because of the experiments Shinra had performed on her, he began to hate Shinra. He was sure that as a punishment Midgar deserved to be destroyed multiple times. Therefore he had released monsters from the laboratories, which soon attacked Midgar and Kalm. He was later arrested by Kunsel.
