| - Olivia Anna Dunham was born and raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Her father, Henry Dunham, is a U.S. Marine Corps AH-1W SuperCobra attack helicopter pilot in Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167 at Marine Corps Air Station New River. Her mother, Marilyn Dunham, is a social worker. After Olivia graduated from high school, she went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Upon graduating from UNC with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Olivia decided to become a military police Marine. After recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, she attended Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and then the Law Enforcement Military Police Course at the U.S. Army Military Police School. Olivia was then assigned to Military Police Company, Security Battalion, Marine Corps Base Quantico. She later returned to the U.S. Army Military Police School to attend the Military Police Investigator Course. After completing the course, Olivia was reassigned to Marine Corps Base Quantico as a military police investigator. With numerous commendations, she left the Marine Corps after six years of service and applied to join the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Before she could join the Bureau, Olivia had to go through the FBI application and hiring process, which included a physical fitness test, a background investigation, and a medical examination. After successful completion of the hiring process, she went on to the FBI Academy. Upon graduating from the Academy, Olivia was sworn in as a Special Agent and assigned to the Boston Field Office. There, she served in a counterterrorism squad. Two years into her FBI career, Olivia was recruited in to the newly established Special Incidents Task Force. Nicknamed "Fringe Division", this multi-agency task force operates under the umbrella of the Department of Homeland Security and is tasked with the mission of investigating a growing number of crimes and crises of a scientific or technological nature and the identification, investigation, and research of extraordinary and seemingly inexplicable phenomena collectively known as "The Pattern" through the application of "fringe" science. As part of a team that investigates scientific crises and oddities, Special Agent Olivia Dunham is dogged in her pursuit of those who would abuse and misuse scientific discoveries and breakthroughs for their own gain. She has solved the most baffling mysteries and saved countless lives in the process.
