Maybe the "Gallery Name" tag could create an automatic link to the main article (and copy that link to "See Also"). The Clever Guy (Talk • Contribs • E-Mail) 13:09, 15 July 2007 (UTC) And if it's a character gallery it could also create a link to the equivalent fan art gallery; and create a link to the equivalent character gallery if it's a fan art gallery. Brilliant! --Jamie 05:05, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

The Clever Guy (Talk • Contribs • E-Mail) 11:27, 25 September 2007 (UTC) Equally brilliant! I have logged 'feature requests' for this functionality, here and here. Feel free to add bugs/feature requests at Bugzilla yourself, if you like. --Jamie 05:05, 28 September 2007 (UTC) I've written the template code for these two features, but the See Also field one won't work until we get those helpful string functions (which I'm watching for). Until then, it's hard to tell if the template is functioning correctly, but at least most of it is written! Here's the test code, and here's the page that I'm testing it on. I tried to address these in Bugzilla, but haven't received a confirmation email yet. . . --Your Friendly Neighborhood Peteparker (talk • contribs • email) 16:14, 28 September 2007 (UTC) Oops! I knew I forgot something! I forgot to attach our Bugzilla installation to a valid SMTP mail relay server... I guess I will log a bug to fix Bugzilla... hahaha --Jamie 18:26, 28 September 2007 (UTC) I have created a sandbox for the gallery template with an automatic link function. I think it's pretty good now. This is the test page. But there are issues with brackets [[]] in the "GalleryName" field. The Clever Guy (Talk • Contribs • E-Mail) 11:45, 18 November 2007 (UTC) My sandbox for this template has become totally awesome! (If I'm allowed to say that myself.) Functions: * Automatic Backlink to the main subject (aka {{BASEPAGENAME}}; requires title to be fully written out without double brackets [[]] in the "GalleryName" field) * Automatic links to related pages. * Character Gallery: Links to Main Article, Fan Art Gallery, and its image category. * Fan Art Gallery: Links to Main Article, Character Gallery, and its image category. * Item Gallery: Links to Main Article, Fan Art Gallery, and its image category. * Location Gallery: Links to Main Article, Fan Art Gallery, and its image category. * Artist Gallery: Links to Main Article and Photo Gallery. * DC/Marvel Staff Gallery: Links to Main Article, and Artist Gallery, if it exists. * Fan Artist Gallery: Link to Main Article. * Cover Art Gallery: Links to all comics list on the with the exact title. * If there would be brackets in the "GalleryName" field, it is displayed as the original editor wished, and the automatic related links work with {{BASEPAGENAME}} instead of {{{GalleryName}}} (they work with {{{GalleryName}}} if the GalleryName exists and is without brackets). Also, it creates the category "Galleries with faulty backlink", so that some [bored] person could go fix it sometime. * Automatic category "Empty Galleries" if the "GalleryData" field is left empty. * Automatic category "Templated Galleries". I have created a test page for it here and tested lots of various combinations. (Note: the gallery thing is not visible at the code sandbox page because of a script.) Any thoughts?
