Eric Hughes is a security guard at the Jeffersonian Institute. He is fired and arrested after being found to have aided the two treasure hunters, Giles Hardewicke and his deceased partner Ted Macy, in 'salting the mine' by stealing remains from the Jeffersonian for them to plant in their shaft. He received at least $10,000 dollars for his handiwork, but Booth informed him that, as grand theft, he was looking at eight years in prison.
