A yearly celebration in Tai-Tastigon, the Feast of the Dead Gods is the time of year when the old dead gods of the region return during the hours between midnight and dawn on the night of Autumn's Eve. Autumn's Eve is Summer 120, but because the Feast of Dead Gods begins at midnight, it's actually on Autumn 1. Tubain of the Res aB'tyrr believes that sealing the inn up would be inhospitable, thus, Jame, wandering the streets in a feverish delirium, is able to enter.

Quote
  • Once a year, on Autumn's Eve, all the gods who've lost or outlived their worshippers come back from wherever it is they've been and spend the night wandering the streets. Some are harmless enough, but most are hungry and out hunting for sacrifices—which is fine if they happen to relish potted begonias, but not so good if their people were fools enough to raise them on baby's blood or virgin's hearts.
abstract
  • A yearly celebration in Tai-Tastigon, the Feast of the Dead Gods is the time of year when the old dead gods of the region return during the hours between midnight and dawn on the night of Autumn's Eve. Autumn's Eve is Summer 120, but because the Feast of Dead Gods begins at midnight, it's actually on Autumn 1. Ghostly remnants of gods who have lost their worshipers roam the city, most of them hoping for sacrifices and posing a threat to any living being brave or foolhardy enough to wander the streets at the same time. Because of this the streets are deserted by nightfall and most people seal their doors and windows for protection. Tubain of the Res aB'tyrr believes that sealing the inn up would be inhospitable, thus, Jame, wandering the streets in a feverish delirium, is able to enter. Most of the Dead Gods appear to be unnamed, although there is reference to Nurk, who lurks in doorways. Others deities include a baby-handed beast, a leviathan coming from an inch of water and a large shadowy shape that consumes the remains of an assassin before Jame.
