| Desirability
| - Not counting 'naturally suffixed' weapons like a sword of sharpness or mace of destruction, two-handed swords have higher damage and to-hit ratings than other basic weapons. Their higher metal forms are more powerful than many artifact weapons, and paired with a good suffix like devastation or penetration can become incredibly powerful.
The downside to wielding a two-handed sword, of course, is the cost of DV; two-handed swords deny their wielder the benefits of fighting with a shield, and the Two-handed Weapons category does not offer much DV bonus compared to the Polearms class.

| - They can be generated by the same ways as generic loot, although they are somewhat rare.
There are two guaranteed iron two-handed swords in the game : the old barbarian may give one to PCs that collect the reward for the Courage quest whilst already knowing courage, and a lawful sword of devastation can be found in the Bug Temple
Common, but not guaranteed, sources of two-handed swords are Darkforge and the Small Cave. The latter seems to be guaranteed to have some two-handed weapons, but rarely two-handed swords.
