Regardless, many people found it hypocritical that Deme would sign such a deal because he had been very outspoken about the commercialization of grav-ball in the past. Most of his outspoken statements came from when he was summoned by the Republic Tax Collection Agency after the Grav-Vessel championship a year before the Invasion of Utapau, a case which had not been resolved up until that point. Despite the ongoing investigation, Deme was still allowed to participate in games with his team, much to the delight of his millions of fans including Bib Fortuna and others on Tatooine.
