It suffered a civil war that decided its political positioning, and came out as a Democratic Republic. Two Borellian families are the Boreks and the Varundles. It had a wide variety of climate zones, from Tropical to sub-arctic. It was one of the last Expansion region planets discovered, around 3,000 BBY.

abstract	Borel III was a planet located in the Expansion Region. It was the home of Galactic Republic Senator Kellen Varundle. It was the third planet in the Borel system and was the home of a large, carnivorous non-sentient creature. It was aligned with the Republic and sided with it in every galactic conflict. It suffered a civil war that decided its political positioning, and came out as a Democratic Republic. Two Borellian families are the Boreks and the Varundles. It had a wide variety of climate zones, from Tropical to sub-arctic. It was one of the last Expansion region planets discovered, around 3,000 BBY. The planet was home to many hostile species such as the Terentatek and the Tyrannosauran. Due to fossil evidence, it is theorized to be the origin planet of the Blue Bear, Tyrannosauran and Yellow Tail, as well as the birth planet of the light sided Terentatek, that was more docile to Force-Users, but liked to feed on dark side energies and yellow tail. The Nerf, Massiff and Reek have been imported to Borel sometime during its existence, which has led to scientific theories that they were brought here by the Rakatans. This theory also supports the idea that they brought Humans to the system at that same point. Despite this theory, Borel III is still classified as a place of origin for Human species, akin to the situation with Corellia.
