The next season he worked in the same capacity with the Orlando Magic, and was appointed interim head coach for the final 18 games of the 2004-2005 season (going 5-13), after Johnny Davis (basketball) was fired. At the start of the next season he was replaced by Brian Hill (basketball coach). From 2005-2008, he backed up Mike Brown (basketball coach) at the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the SNES NBA 95 video game, his name is misspelled as Chris Dent. He has a nephew in Sparta New Jersey that will break his 2,000 point scoring record
