Near Harad Armour is the armour worn by the warriors of Near Harad and their commanders. It has an armour rating equivalent to that of Dorwinion Armour. Upon donning a full set of Near Harad armour, the player gets the achievement "Southron Soldier." The texture received an update as of Public Beta 27, adding gold scales to parts of the armour in accordance with the lore description. In Public Beta 28, the armor became even more red and gold, losing most of its black coloration.

It is a common misconception that Near Harad armour provides protection from the desert heat of Near Harad. This is not true, and has never been true. However, Near Harad Robes have this function.
