Finding Alice is a novel by Christian author Melody Carlson. Alice is a senior in college, and her life is going great. That is, until she starts seeing people and hearing things that aren't there. She's diagnosed with schizophrenia, and her world turns upside down. Her overly religious parents try to perform an exorcism on her, she gets sent to a mental institution, she escapes and lives on the streets, and everywhere she goes, she feels she can't trust anyone. Her only friend is Amelia, who may or may not actually be there. As she continues on her journey to figure out who she is and what to do with her life, she thinks about the possibility of God and if He could possibly love her. What she finds changes her life even more.
