Paramount Stages 8, 9, and 15 housed most of the remaining sets for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. On Monday 14 October 1991 this sound stage was used as schoolroom for the child background actors of the fifth season episode "New Ground" prior and after they filmed their scenes. ("New Ground" call sheet) On Friday 31 January 1992 this stage housed the tables for the hair department during the filming of the fifth season episode "The First Duty" . More space was required because of the many background performers. ("The First Duty" call sheet) On Friday 21 February 1992 Stage 10 was used during second unit insert filming for the visual effects explosions for the fifth season episode "Cause and Effect" . ("Cause and Effect" call sheet) Stage 10 was used during the production of the fifth season episode "Cost of Living" , housing the catering area for the "French Hours" during breakfast and lunch on Monday 10 February 1992 . ("Cost of Living" call sheet) In 1992 this non-Trek sound stage was again used to house a Star Trek set. The Bonestell Recreation Facility at Starbase Earhart was created on stage 10 for TNG: "Tapestry" . (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion) By December 1994 , an area of Stage 10 had become reserved for makeup design and was used by Michael Westmore.
