| - Captain Olimar, commonly called Olimar, is the main character of the Pikmin series. He was the one who discovered the Planet of the Pikmin. He works at Hocotate Freight and owns and captains his ship, the S.S. Dolphin, in the first Pikmin game. He has a family (wife, son and daughter) on Hocotate. According to the notes on the Worthless Statue and the Priceless Statue, Olimar has a father who may seem useless to him and a mother who is deceased. In-game, Olimar's dialogue of notes to himself are in Pikmin 1 only; in the second game, they are replaced by the Ship's.

Despite being a Brawl character, Olimar has sucked it up in the contests. In the Summer 2003 Contest, Olimar debuted as a 16 seed and was blown away by Mario. Captain Olimar has a wife and 2 Children, which he supports by working for Hocotate Frieght, a well-known delivery company. However, one day, when he was searching for a vacation spot, a meteorite struck his ship, and he crash-landed on an unknown planet, called the Distant Planet. With help from the Pikmin that lived there, he was able to gather all the parts of his broken ship, and made it back home. He is also a good friend and partner of Louie. He is Mortal Enemies with Emperor Bulblax.
- Captain Olimar is a tiny humanoid alien from the planet Hocotate who stars in the Pikmin series. He was originally created by Shigeru Miyamoto. His first adventure to a mysterious planet was in the game Pikmin, where his ship crashed and the 30 parts of his ship went missing. He then found a species called Pikmin, (which are as mobile as animals yet grow like plants) in the ground, and pulled them out to assist him. The Pikmin were very fond of him and vowed to help him find the pieces of his ship, even if it meant their lives.

He is named after Mario; his name is an anagram of Mario with the letter L added in. He is the main character of the Pikmin series. He was made much taller for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
