Toa Metru Vakama later travelled here, attempting to find suitable conditions for the settlement of Ta-Koro. Makuta Teridax provoked Mangai to erupt, posing significant threat to the Matoran citizenry. Toa Mata Pohatu and Onua used the respective Kanohi Kakama and Pakari to construct a ravine passageway, channelling it harmlessly. Mangai was effectively destroyed after the Toa Nuva unintentionally awakened the Bohrok, allowing the swarm to ravage the island.
