James Bethel Gresham (August 23, 1893 - November 3, 1917) of Evansville, Indiana (originally from Kentucky) was among the first American soldiers killed during World War I. Prior to that, Gresham participated in General John Pershing's pursuit of Pancho Villa in Mexico.
