While in Autopsy, Ducky had a vision of the victim speaking to him during which she begged him to tell her family what had happened to her. Once Leroy Jethro Gibbs had arrived in, Ducky finally gave in and confessed that he had investigated a similar case ten years previously during when a female victim had a trident mark on her neck before showing Gibbs the exact same trident mark that lay on Santos's neck. The team came together to aid Ducky and they were eventually successful in identifying Santos's remains as well as arresting her killer who had been Santos's former girlfriend, Petty Officer Cynthia Cluxton.
