The battlecruiser proved to not be the most effective transport even for its early days in 50 BBY, but because it was a useful distraction for enemy capital ships and could do significant damage if oriented correctly, the ship survived even to the days of the Second Clone War, which made it one of the most enduring ships in the galaxy.

Some have speculated that Darth Infineus used a Porthole-class battlecruiser as his flagship before he built the Quantum-class Hypertransport around the time of the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War. This theory was probably untrue, as Darth Infineus used Miss Ship as his personal transport for most of his reign as Sith.
