Pink and Purple is a 1955 one-reel animated cartoon and is about parody classic novels directed by Fred Quimby and produced by Alex Seagel, Pink and Purple was released to theaters on Grandparents day, 1955 by Metro Goldwyn Mayer. This is the first Remy Rat short to be animated by Norman McLaren, who arrived from Walt Disney Productions after working on Bearly Asleep, a Donald Duck cartoon also released in 1955. Except some time spent at Chuck Jones Productions in the 1960s, McLaren would continue to work for Fred Quimby into the 1960s before his death.
