  • The Treaty of Coruscant was the peace agreement that brought an end to the Great Galactic War between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic in 978 ARR. The treaty was formed by both Supreme Chancellor Harrison Hord and the Dark Councillor Darth Tyranus in secret, and was presented to both the Galactic Senate and to the rest of the Dark Council, having been met with unanimous approval from both. The concept of peace between the Sith and the Republic was first proposed by the Sith Emperor to the Dark Council, which then contacted the Supreme Chancellor to arrange what would become known as the Treaty of Coruscant. Two weeks later, the Chancellor accepted and then presented the treaty to the Senate, declaring that the war between the two faction was now over. The treaty effectively divided the galaxy in two, and despite the rather chaotic borders both factions were in total agreement over the territorial division. The agreement also stated the division of Separatist territory, giving both Empire and Republic a shared enemy and a new, more defined focus. The treaty was so significant that both Republic and Empire adopted the date of its signing as a new dating standard.
